More About Me...
If you’re reading this, I imagine you might be feeling tense, stuck, lonely, ashamed, worried, sad, anxious, or any other number of feelings. Or maybe you just feel numb or not sure what you’re feeling anymore. That’s okay. All of you is welcome here.
I’m here to support you wherever you are. To team up with you, working together to explore your world and where to go from here. Whether it be the systems we live in, the patterns inside you, connections in your life, or something else that brings you here, we will explore next steps together.
My counseling style is a little bit of this and a little bit of that. I’m informed by person-centered counseling, where I seek to understand your experience from your perspective, and multicultural counseling, where I consider the systems that interact with your life and their impact on you. I also have a somatic focus, incorporating your body’s responses into the session, and an attachment-based lens, looking at how your early relationships influence how you relate to others now. I intentionally integrate techniques of other evidence-based practices as needed, such as cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness.
In the counseling room, this can look many different ways. My intention is to connect with you so I can get your world and see what types of techniques might be supportive in our work together. I may ask about your identities and how our world and its systems influence you, how your body is feeling, or what your relationships were like growing up. That said, this is a collaborative process, so you get to decide what works for you!
I work with adults of all ages, and I see some teens as well. I enjoy working with those in the LGBTQIA+ community, especially those who are gender expansive, because I am queer and genderfluid myself. I also have experience working with neurodiverse people; those who are struggling with anxiety or grief; and those who are going through personal, spiritual, vocational, and relational transitions.
I know the search for a counselor can be difficult because I have been there many times myself. Please reach out if you have any questions! I would love to connect and see if we might be a good fit to begin a counseling journey together.
A little about me outside of being a counselor: I enjoy wandering in nature, dancing, reading, playing board games, and connecting with loved ones near and far. I also spend a fair bit of time on my own self-growth, including undoing racism within me, taking care of my wounded parts, and reaching out for support as needed.

“Feeling is revolutionary, a disruption to the status quo. Though it feels personal and happens in our bodies, it doesn’t need to be a solitary action. Feeling and connection bring us into the world and into relationship with one another. Some things seem too big to be felt alone because they are. They require the collective to hold the space for big feeling, for it to move through, and to remind us that we’re not alone.” – Prentis Hemphill
