Fun fact: I am a huge theater fan and one of my favorite possessions is a RENT poster signed by Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal.
More About Me...
You may be struggling to find yourself, to know what you want to do or how you want to live. You may know that something needs to change but change feels impossible. You may feel like a square peg trying to fit in a round hole and that traditional psychotherapy just isn’t working. You may have spent years feeling misunderstood, not good enough or insignificant. Emotions may feel overwhelming or you may spend most of your time feeling shut down and disconnected. I provide an inclusive, non-judgemental space to dig down to the roots of these barriers and begin the healing process.
I believe you are not broken and that you already have all the answers in you. They may be buried and difficult to access but they are there. And if you don’t believe that yet, it’s okay. I’ve been there too. As a therapist, my most important job is to hold a safe space. Allowing you to access all the messy, dark and beautiful parts of yourself in order to heal and live the life you want. It will be hard. Change always is. I will hold the hope for you until you’re ready.
I believe in neuro-diversity, health at any size, social justice and that we don’t have to conform to societal norms to live a fulfilling life. I’m passionate about helping others heal. I use a variety of techniques, including EMDR, mindfulness, somatic experiencing and psychodynamic therapy, to meet you wherever you are.
My journey to now has not been a straight line. With a decade working in the performing arts, I see life through a lens of experiences. We adapt and shape our beliefs about ourselves and others through what we have been taught and experienced. I’ve rewritten my story a thousand times. I love being a therapist because I get to walk alongside you as you rewrite yours.
When not at work, you’ll usually find me exploring the world, whether it’s through a book, tv show, movie, play or travel. My daily meditation practice and finding my way back to my yoga mat helps to keep me grounded. I’ve been on a journey of self discovery since the beginning and am always looking for new ways to learn and grow.
