More About Me...
You may have read a lot of therapist bios by now—full of credentials, approaches, and acronyms and still found yourself wondering, “But will this actually help me feel better?” If you’ve landed here, something in your life may feel overwhelming, stuck, or just… off. Maybe you’re carrying anxiety that won’t quiet, patterns that keep repeating, or a sense that you’ve lost connection with yourself, your body, or the people around you.
You might be someone who holds it all together on the outside, but inside feels exhausted, disconnected, or unsure how to find your way back.
I believe that each of us are invited, if we so chose to accept, to dive into our depths, explore the pearls of wisdom contained there, and bring them to the surface for ourselves and others. I am passionate about co – creating and alchemical collaboration, in support of empowerment, and in service to, the individual and systemic transformation. I trust in a relational, strength-based, person-centered, and trauma-informed approach. I value the use of psycho-education, somatic practices, parts work, transpersonal frameworks and dance movement therapy interventions, and I believe there are endless, creative avenues, toward healing, spiritual development, and embodied mindfulness.
I am Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate (LCAS-A), and a Registered Dance Movement Therapist (R-DMT) in North Carolina. I completed a Master’s of Arts Degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology, from Naropa University, and Post Master’s of Arts Certificate in Dance Movement Therapy, from Antioch University. I am a trauma – informed clinician, with over twelve years of experience working with individuals and systems experiencing chronic stress and / or trauma. I have worked in various levels of care, in service of children, adolescents, adults, and families, both in individual and systemic capacities, and from various walks of life. I am certified in Natural Flow EMDR, and am trained in Somatic embodiment and mindfulness practices, and experienced with ACT, DBT, CBT/TFCBT, and parts work.
I am a somatically oriented, mindful, and empathetic professional, with over twenty years of experience in the human services field. I apply a developmental and attachment based lens in working to build trust and rapport, what research tells us is a cornerstone to the collaborative nature of the therapeutic relationship. I believe that we are harmed in relationship and we have the opportunity to heal in relationship, in relationship to our self, and in relationship to other. I believe that mental health dis – ease stems from a chronically deregulated nervous system, and I trust in our nervous system’s capacity to heal, and learn to orient toward safety and sustainability, through curiosity, patience, repetition, and compassion. I acknowledge the nervous system’s need for belonging, identify as an ally and as LGBTQ, I am also a sex positive, kink affirming, clinician, and I support diversity, equity, and inclusivity,
If you chose to collaborate with me on your recovery journey, I look forward collaborating with you! To all whom read these words: blessings on your continual becoming.
