More About Me...
We’re all dealt different hands in life. Whatever yours may be, I strongly believe that you are deserving of joy, fulfillment, and a life that feels like more than surviving. These things might feel out of reach. I know it’s not new or groundbreaking news that life can be confusing and complicated. Moments of joy, connection, and beauty can be hard to find amid grief, uncertainty, pain, or loss. Sometimes we experience it all at once. Facing the pain of being alive is one of the greatest challenges we face in this shared human experience. But what might happen if you made room for all that hurt and confusion? What if we choose to move towards the parts of ourselves that we find the hardest to understand or accept?
This is easier said than done–but I want you to acknowledge that you’re here, taking the first steps towards healing. Maybe you’re here seeking support as you navigate change. Maybe you are in search of relief from feelings of anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem. Maybe safety in relationships has been hard for you to find. Maybe something has happened to you or around you that’s created confusion, chaos, or other emotions that make it hard to find peace. Maybe you’re not exactly sure what it is you’re looking for—and that’s totally fine! I’m excited to see what you can accomplish—and I’d be honored to help.
In my time as a clinician, I’ve worked extensively with clients either in crisis situations or in processing the aftermath of traumatic experiences. I’ve learned that a helpful approach in finding a path towards mental health recovery is to ask “what happened to you?” rather than “what’s wrong with you?” I am guided by evidence-based practices—treatment that has been proven to work time and time again to address a wide range of mental health symptoms. I have trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I’m also a licensed clinical addictions specialist and have experience supporting individuals navigating problematic substance use. In our sessions together, my goal is that you will leave with practical skills you can use in your day-to-day life to manage the unpredictable, stressful things life tends to throw at us. Above all, though, my role is to create a space where you can be yourself! My hope is to offer the opportunity to gently explore the places within you that feel uncomfortable or uncertain while fostering genuine trust and safety.
I’ve been on your side of things in the past. Reaching out for help takes tremendous courage, vulnerability, and strength. You’ve also got this—whatever it is. Your brain is a remarkable organ, capable of growing and evolving beyond whatever “stuck” points you’re experiencing. It may not be easy, but I am confident that as a whole, humans are capable of far more change, growth, and transformation than we often realize.
A little about me: When I’m not working, I’m usually at band practice or at the gym. I love live music, crafting with my friends, thrifting, reading, and spending time with my husband, our dog, and our two cats.
